This site is dedicated to the memory of Chris Goodman.

This is a fund set up in lieu of flowers, dedicated to Chris's memory to help raise money for research into pulmonary fibrosis, in the hope it will help others. Chris died aged 46 on Sunday 23 October 2011. Just a few months previously, Chris was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis; a lung transplant was to be the answer to recovery. Sadly, Chris caught a hospital acquired pneumonia and with his reduced lung function, he was unable to fight off the infection. Chris was a truly amazing person with a terrific sense of humour. He was kind and generous, but his cheekiness would always come through to those who knew him well. He was loved by many friends and family. Chris was a highly skilled builder and many people have been lucky to have benefited from his work and his high level of professionalism and care, he was a perfectionist with a fantastic eye for detail. Chris had time for everyone, even when he had no time.…. his timekeeping was legendry but then he was ‘cheeky boy’! Chris and Gill had recently married in hospital, bringing forward their intended wedding in Yorkshire with the horses present, Chris’s special request! Chris and Gill had a wonderful life together, they were best friends and shared a special, very close love of each other, and of course their horse family who gave them both endless enjoyment and fulfilment. Never taking each other’s love for granted, often reflecting how lucky they were to have each other and the happy, very easy, contented times they shared. Chris will be infinitely missed and loved forever by everyone who knew him, his family and friends, but most of all, by his wife and his horses who will miss the adventures, fun and laughter they had, in almost any situation.
